Here is the meaning...
What makes a halo around the sun or moon?
Halos around the moon – or sun – are a sign of thin cirrus clouds drifting high above our heads. They are a sign of nearby storms.
A ring or circle of light around the sun or moon is
called a halo by scientists. We get many messages
throughout each year from people who’ve just
spotted a ring around the sun or moon. The night
before Hurricane Sandy made landfall on the U.S.
mainland on October 29, 2012, for example, many
throughout the U.S. saw a lunar halo. Another rash of
lunar halos in the U.S. began to appear shortly before
Christmas 2012. Solar and lunar haloes are pretty
common, but they’re so mysterious-looking that
people often express amazement upon seeing them.

Testing Timelapse Photography on my Nikon D800...so far amazing results
I have been fascinated with timelapse photography for a while now but have never tried it. I bought the new Nikon D800 which has the capacity to do Timelapse in camera which makes life so much easier. After going online to see how it's done and the difficulty for others that have to do it post production, I realized that having the ability to do it in camera makes life rosy.
I went to my friends apartment who lives on the Hudson River in Yonkers New York. His view is of the river and the outlying rocky terrain. Boats go up and down the Hudson and it is a very open view. With these components and a cloudy day it seemed a great opportunity to try it out. See the link below...
My second attempt was taken from my apartment on West 26th Street. I have a great view of the Empire State Building and the Chrysler Building along with just a pure open view of the city. I probably started a bit too early, as my intention was to get the change from day to night but am pretty happy with the results. The cloud movement is very surprising in all of my videos.

My incredible New York architecture Photos
I have been working on this project since 2010. All of the photos in this series were taken in 2010 over a few months. In total I shot 27 buildings and still need to shoot about 45 more so this will be an ongoing project for me.
Every photographer sets out to do something different:to me this is my diffferent moment. As I said, it is still a work in progress and things might change (will change) over time. Originally I set out on this project in a much different way as far as output goes. I did not have the same intentions that these photos show.
Things in life change and we shall see how this changes over it's life. These photos have been on my Flickr account for a few days now with a poor amount of web hits...or people are just breezing through. With this being said, please take a look at each individual photo to see the details of my work.
At the top of each photo is the time each shot was taken down to the second. It may be on the bottom, I am not 100% sure at this point. Each shot also is made up of different amount of shots. Take a look, thanks!

Panorama's..................Lots of Panorama's......
I was reading an article last week about Panorama's and another article about going back to look at old photos. So what I did was put the 2 of those ideas together and I came up with fixing all of my Panorama photos.
I've taken Panorama's from so many places and have not posted them anywhere for others to see my work. I figured it was time to go back and get them all done and ready to show the world. Once the project got started I was amazed as to how many I actually took. The easiest way to get them on the web is through my Flickr account but they will probably be posted at my www.richardsilvephoto.com site for sale next month.
Here are a few examples with the link to my Flickr Set...

Tiffany & Co. purchased one of my pieces for their Portland location...
I have been in touch with Tiffany & Co. for some time waiting to do business with them. We met at the Javit's Center back in November 2011 when I did the "Contemporary Art Fair" show there. The show itself wasn't such a big show but I did make some great connections, Tiffany & Co. being one of them. The people at Tiffany have been amazing to deal with too.
This is the first piece that they purchased but I am hoping to do more business with them in the future.
